Scenes from Savage Grace

June 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

(Clearview Cinemas on 62nd and Broadway. ISAAC and IAN J. are watching Savage Grace with a handful of others who too brought snacks in from Whole Foods. Julianne Moore is having sex with a surly taxi driver after being left by her husband.)

IAN J.: Ewww.
ISAAC: Hey, we’ve all been there.

(Ten minutes later, Julianne Moore and the actor playing her gay son are driving along the coast, engaging in some of the most pretentiously arch dialogue to ever thud across the silver screen.)

IAN J.: Please tell me they die in a horrible car crash in ten seconds.
ISAAC: Nope. There’s no stopping them; they’re like a fatal disease.

(Hugh Dancy arrives on the scene.)

(Yeah. Totally. Things begin to look up. Julianne Moore’s character and her son swoop in to take a piece.)

(After sleeping with them separately, Hugh Dancy’s character has a giggly threeway with Julianne and her son.)

IAN J.: I hate this movie.

(Hugh Dancy’s character leaves for good.)

ISAAC: Okay, I’m ready to go.
IAN J.: Me too.

(They gather their Whole Foods and Duane Reade bags and also leave for good.)
