New York Moment: LXXX

(The A-train headed uptown. ISAAC is trying to sleep. Two MEN next to him are talking.)

MAN #1: Yo, you see that picture on The New Yorker of Obama and his wife? That cartoon?
MAN #2: What? No.
MAN #1: They got a cartoon of him and Michelle dressed up like terrorists, and the American flag is burning in the fireplace, they got a picture of Osama on the wall …
MAN #2: Aw, that’s not cool.
MAN #1: That’s fucked up. Apparently they were tryin’ to be funny or something, like show what people are trying to slander him as, but it just didn’t work. And that’s not cool, too.
MAN #2: Nope.
MAN #1: He’s gotta win, man. We can’t have none of that. He’s gotta win.
MAN #2: He’s not gonna win.
MAN #1: Why you say that?
MAN #2: He’s just not gonna win. I don’t think he is.
MAN #1: If we want anything to change he’s gotta win. McCain is just Bush, Jr. They even talk the same. I was at work the other day and he was giving some speech on TV, and from my vantage point I couldn’t see who was talking, and I said, “God, Bush is so annoying, he never shuts up,” and I looked at the TV and was like, Fuck no, that’s McCain!
MAN #2: I don’t know. Did you see him on Saturday Night Live? He’s got a sense of humor. Kind of funny.
